Deene Park Wedding Photographer – When Nathan and Sarah chose me to be their Wedding Photographer at Deene Park, I was so excited. My mum had lived in Deene for quite a few years, yet I had never been to visit Deene Park and actually I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t even know what it looked like! It definitely is as Deene Park says on their website, Northamptonshire’s Hidden Gem!
When I met Nathan and Sarah, it wasn’t the conventional way of them coming into our photography studio to meet me, it was the ‘Covid Safe’ way, we met via Teams! We still managed to get to know each other well and I was so happy when they booked me as their wedding photographer. We met again for an engagement shoot at Deene Park so we could scope out the best spots…there were so many to choose from, luckily Georgina from Deene Park, was on hand to offer advice! Fast forward and before we knew it, it was their wedding day!
Sarah and Nathan chose a traditional wedding service at Cottingham Church, Leicestershire. It was so beautiful and totally fitting for these two. After the service, it was the short drive to Deene Park for the fun to begin. Upon arrival, Georgina was there to greet all the guests and to introduce the traditional ‘Ladies alight here’ where the ladies can walk across the lawn grounds to the reception, its origins come from where the ladies of the house would dismount their horses…Gents, you get to park the car, but it’s equally as stunning on the drive round, so you don’t miss out!

When Mr & Mrs Armstrong arrived, we took some quick couple portraits on the bridge and then a few more on the way round to join the guests. Georgina was great at keeping me in check, I could have literally photographed them for hours, every few steps and there was another amazing spot for photographs! When parking my car, I had spotted one archway with the light coming through beautifully, I just had to have one there or I think I would have cried! As expected, they looked totally amazing and I am so in love with this picture.
The guests were treated to drinks and canapes on the stunning grounds of Deene Park, whilst they waited for the new Mr & Mrs arrival. There was time for lots of cuddles and congratulations before some quick group photos. The informal pictures are always the ones you will love best, everyone truly happy and raw emotion shining through. As an experienced Wedding Photographer, I always try to keep the formal ones quick as everyone wants to enjoy the day and not be stuck on a photoshoot!
Quite a few champagnes later and it was time for dinner. The marquee looked amazing, as did the food. Some pretty emotional and funny speeches were followed by some dance competitions..and some guests got very competitive! Yes you rowdy lot that won the round of shots…I’m talking to you!
After dinner, it was time for confetti…
…as expected this did involve handfuls down Nathans’s collar! As a Wedding Photographer, I would say this is one of the funniest moments of the day and I love seeing how childlike the guests get!
Then it was time for the fun to really start, party time! However, we managed to sneak off for another couple of pictures down by the lake as the sun was going down. This was lovely as it gave Sarah and Nathan a few minutes away from everyone just to chat about the day…and have a few sneaky kisses! Well, sort of away from everyone, one lovely (slightly inebriated) guest was my best assistant ever…throwing the veil up and shouting orders for them to pose…you know who you are 😉
With the party in full swing and Deene park putting on some great lighting and music, it was a wedding photographer’s dream to photograph the evening reception! The guest’s dance moves definitely made for some great pictures too!
It also made for some great, emotive first dance photographs! These two just radiated happiness and love all day long…wedding goals!
Just when you thought the day couldn’t possibly get any better, the couple topped it off as they had arranged some surprise fireworks for their guests, they lit up the skies!
