They did it!  Jason & Rachel got married at the beautiful Great Oakley Church in Corby, Northamptonshire.  I went to scope out the church before the big day to find all the best locations to do some couple portraits, the church and it’s grounds are beautiful so there was no shortage of choices…however best laid plans and all that, the 10th of August 2019 decided to blow a gale and rain!  Not that it put a dampener an amazing day, nor did it spoil the pictures as we got a few lucky breaks in the rain and we were also allowed back into the church to take some pictures.

The day started at the Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel in Corby, where Rachel and her bride tribe were getting ready.  Not just your average bridal prep, this lot were doing press ups and knocking back Blue Wicked in preparation for Rachel’s marriage to Mr Fitness himself, Jason Strachan AKA JS FITNESS Then things got real as the dresses went on and Rachel’s dad arrived.  He was so emotional and proud, the tears started for everyone as he gave Rachel her mother’s wedding ring.  Lots of hugging and tears then it was off to the church.

Jason was holding it together and looked calm and happy, although I did catch him having to compose himself in what looked like a sneaky moment of nerves kicking in!  As Rachel arrived her little boy was excitedly waiting outside and running up and down waiting for his Mummy to arrive.  Rachel was walked down the aisle by her proud dad and tears were flowing all around.  During the service, as with lots of church weddings, I was only allowed to stand at the back, however this doesn’t mean you miss all the emotion, it actually makes for some really beautiful moments.

After the ceremony we managed to get some confetti shots before the rain started and hairstyles were blown away, then it was off to the Grampian for the guests to start the celebrations.  We stayed at the church briefly to get some couple portraits and then it was off to join the guests.  The Grampian looked absolutely amazing, there was a huge marquee in their gardens and the decor was stunning.  Everyone was downing the favour shots and the partying was in full swing early on.  Before the speeches a dance group performed for the guests and wowed everyone.  The speeches were emotional, funny and did I mention emotional…lots more tears again!

If the daytime wasn’t enough to impress their guests then they were in for more of a treat when the first dance involved Mr Fitness stripping off and a performance with his new wife that wouldn’t have looked out of place on Strictly!  Then followed singers and dance offs, this wedding did not disappoint!  Congratulations Mr & Mrs Strachan x
