The Old Cow Shed wedding venue in Melton Mowbray gives you the most relaxed wedding day you could ever dream of! It is set in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside and has barns, paddocks and Shepherds huts at your disposal. You can even bring your dogs 🙂 I photographed the wedding of Sarah and Billy there when it first opened as a wedding venue and it did not disappoint. Sarah is the biggest animal lover known to man so a venue that was safe and secure for her dogs was a must (she would have brought her horses too if she thought Billy would have allowed it!)
They had exclusive use of the Old Cow Shed wedding venue for the entire weekend so they made the most of it with drinks the night before whilst they set it up and then breakfast for everyone the morning after the wedding. The did a great job of setting it up exactly how they wanted it.
The day started for me when I arrived to photograph the bridal prep, the owners have thought of everything in the room and had lots of lovely spots to hang the dresses for photos.
Billy had also stayed the night before with their little boy William in the Shepherds huts, so I was able to go between the two and got some lovely pictures. There were some great shots of the boys playing with the dogs in the paddocks while Sarah was getting her hair and make up done upstairs. The rooms were private, so no chance of any accidental glances before the ceremony which was great!
When everyone arrived the celebrant took everyone into the barn and seated them for Sarah’s arrival. I love watching the Groom at this part as they suddenly get very serious and nervous. Sarah arrived with her bridesmaids and the ceremony went without a hitch…Billy even promised to love and accept all Sarah’s animals, as long as no more were added to the brood (I know of at least one more horse and a baby added since then!)
With so many beautiful places for portrait photos we were spoilt for choice! The dogs chose the paddocks!
And the Shepherds huts!
The driveway heading to the main wedding reception are was a lovely place to do the confetti shots. Sarah had provided so many dried petals as confetti so their pictures looked great and no mess to clear up, win win!
Afterwards there was so much for guests to do, even after confetti shots, group photos and drinks as Billy had built lots of games to go out in the paddock. There was quite a lot of cheating going on from some of the guests and heavy competition!
The night ended with a band….dancing on tables
,,,,and a very happy Bride & Groom!
